AN EIGHT-year-old British girl was found safe and sound in a restaurant in Albir yesterday (Thursday) morning following a frenetic all-night search by six Guardia Civil patrols.

The child was having dinner with her mother and brother in a restaurant, when she went missing shortly after midnight.

According to the Guardia Civil, she wandered off and hid in a corner of a nearby restaurant, where she fell asleep, and nobody noticed she was there.

When she woke, she realised the restaurant was closed.

However, the youngster found a remote and turned on the television.

Two Guardia Civil officers participating in the search noticed the set was on, even though the restaurant was closed.

They decided to enter the restaurant, where they found the girl watching the TV.
