Another cyclist injured on Oliva's N-332
YET ANOTHER cyclist has been injured on the N-332 in Oliva, close to the spot where three triathletes from Jávea were killed and two others left critical.
The 41-year-old biker from Jalón was riding along the hard shoulder past the restaurant Casa Clara about halfway between Oliva and El Verger at around 18.00 on Thursday when a car pulled out from a side lane.
It is thought that the blind junction blocked the driver's view.
According to emergency services reports on Friday morning, the cyclist suffered a split lip and several broken teeth, as well as cuts and bruises all over, meaning he was bleeding profusely when paramedics at- tended to him.
But his injuries are not said to be life-threatening, nor will he be disabled long-term.
Oliva's N-332 south has so far claimed four cyclists' lives in five months – Luis Alberto Contreras, 53, was killed and his son Andrés seriously injured along with his friend Scott Gor- don, and Edu Monfort Gasent and José Antonio Albi, both 28, lost their lives when a drunk driver high on cocaine slammed into them in May.
A month later, a 32-year-old cyclist from Senija was killed outright by a stoned Dutch driver from Ondara in a hitand-run.
