Dénia-Ibiza ferry port drug bust
Yet another drug bust at Dénia ferry port has led to an arrest – this time, a 38year-old Spaniard planning to sell Class A substances in Ibiza. The accused had booked a ticket to Formentera, which visits Ibiza en route, and had 2.6 kilos of cocaine and 360 of MDMA – the principal ingredient in ecstasy – hidden in the airbag of his car. All cars are scrutinised as they board and, in this case, port police noticed that the plastic parts covering the lower section of the dashboard and the passengerside airbag were not fixed, but mobile. They found four packages of drugs inside when they removed them. The driver, who lives in Valencia, has been remanded in custody.
