HMRC tax seminar for expats
Representatives from the UK HMRC are holding a session to discuss tax matters on Tuesday September 4 in Moraira
REPRESENTATIVES from the HMRC of the United Kingdom are holding a session to discuss tax matters on Tuesday 4 September.
The free seminar commences at 17.00 in the assembly hall at Espai La Senieta in Moraira.
HMRC has introduced new legislation that requires people to ensure that their income and assets abroad are in order before September 30, 2018 and coincides with the arrival of more severe penalties.
These changes can affect people if they live abroad and pay taxes outside the UK, for example, people who rent their house in the UK while living in another country, or who still have bank accounts or investments in the UK. It can affect many people, so it is advisable to go along and listen.
HMRC representatives will also be available to answer questions and provide updates on associated international tax issues.
Keep in mind that the representatives will not be able to give any specific advice on issues related to the Spanish tax system.
The British Consul, Sarah Jane Morris, will also attend the event, as well as the mayor of Teulada Moraira, Carlos Linares, and Laura Hillstead, councillor for international residents.
“Come and learn about this new legislation, how it might affect you and what to do to prepare. It will be an interesting meeting for anyone with questions or questions about taxes. It is also for professionals who may have dealings with expatriates, such as lawyers, managers and tax advisors. We hope you can join us and we hope to see you there.” said Hillstead.
