Sold-out crowd delighted with Teulada performance

THE FAMOUS New Orleans classic jazz band, The Bourbon Street Stompers, along with vocalist Joshua Stewart, dazzled the audience of the Teulada auditorium with a recent performance.

Before a sold-out crowd, their music both fascinated and enthralled fans.

The Bourbon Street Stompers played music from the 1920s and 1930s with great strength and energy, and on this occasion they were accompanied by the powerful voice of the American opera and jazz vocalist, Joshua Stewart, who trained at the Curtis Institute of Philadelphia. His voice and technique matched perfectly with the professionalism of the Bourbons.

The performance lasted for around two and a half hours of music. The night also brought a surprise, as Joshua Stewart wanted to honour the great soprano, Montserrat Caballé, who died recently aged 85 years old. Stewart dedicated a very emotional cappella, to both the applause and tears of the audience. The Bourbons performance finished with a standing ovation from the audience, and is it hoped they will return again next year.
