Calpe welcomes AECC
Last Saturday Calpe’s mayor, César Sanchez, and members of the Calpe branch of AECC, the Spanish National Cancer Charity, welcomed AECC volunteers from all over the province to visit the town and experience some of its pleasures.
230 volunteers arrived and began their day at the Diamante Beach Hotel, then Hotel Suitopia to admire the magnificent views from the top floor and to take coffee before being whisked away in coaches to Club Nautico where they embarked on a tour of the town by trenet or the bay by catamaran, which ever they chose.
The day concluded with a five-course lunch back at the Diamante Beach where the volunteers were addressed by the mayor, then the Provincial President
Dr Pablo Enriquez Valens both of whom praised the work of the volunteers and stressed that their work was paramount in the bringing of care and support to people with cancer and their families.
