Calpe wel­comes AECC

Last Satur­day Calpe’s mayor, César Sanchez, and mem­bers of the Calpe branch of AECC, the Span­ish Na­tional Can­cer Charity, wel­comed AECC vol­un­teers from all over the prov­ince to visit the town and ex­pe­ri­ence some of its plea­sures.

230 vol­un­teers ar­rived and be­gan their day at the Diamante Beach Ho­tel, then Ho­tel Suitopia to ad­mire the mag­nif­i­cent views from the top floor and to take cof­fee be­fore be­ing whisked away in coaches to Club Nau­tico where they em­barked on a tour of the town by trenet or the bay by cata­ma­ran, which ever they chose.

The day con­cluded with a five-course lunch back at the Diamante Beach where the vol­un­teers were ad­dressed by the mayor, then the Pro­vin­cial Pres­i­dent

Dr Pablo En­riquez Valens both of whom praised the work of the vol­un­teers and stressed that their work was para­mount in the bring­ing of care and sup­port to peo­ple with can­cer and their fam­i­lies.
