Mayor thanks expat associations

LAST Wednesday, following the end of restrictions, the monthly meeting of clubs and associations in Alfaz del Pi took place at the Forum Mare Nostrum residential complex, and was attended by mayor Vicente Arques.

Throughout the state of emergency, the meetings took place online via Zoom and this was the first to be held in person – and actually the last meeting before the summer break. It was chaired by Martine Mertens, councillor for foreign residents.

The clubs and associations present were: Lions Club, Norwegian Club, Club Mas Amigos, Classical Music Association, Anglican Church, U3A, Companions Club Albir, Club Los Holandeses, Alfaz Rotary Club

International, Frivilligsentralen, Alzheimer Association, AECC, Royal British Legion, MABS and Freemasons. The mayor thanked all the associations for their responsible actions throughout the crisis, and for informing and communicating key messages to their members.

The meetings will resume after the summer break.
