Preparing for World Breast Cancer Day

Every year, October 19 is World Breast Cancer Day – which this year will fall on Monday – and most town halls across Spain will commemorate the day. Alfaz del Pi council collaborate with Anemona Marina Baixa, a selfhelp group for women diagnosed with the disease. Yesterday ( Thursday) morning a large pink symbolic ribbon was unveiled across the front of the town hall to raise public awareness.

The event was attended by deputy mayor Mayte Garcia, councillor for health Marisa Cortés and president of Anemona Maria Botella, who was accompanied by Rose García, Maria Esperanza Felipe and Julia Romero, all volunteers of the association.
