PROVINCIAL WALKS THE RETURN OF THE ROMANS

Until November 15: Alicante provincial government organised series of walks through its parks and natural spaces. A coach will leave Plaza de Los Luceros in Alicante at 08.00 on the morning of each walk. Aimed at people over 16 years of age. Walkers under 18 years of age must be accompanie­d by an adult. Participan­ts should wear long trousers, a tshirt and a change of top, warm clothing ( according to the weather forecast), walking boots, sun cream, sun glasses, and bring a backpack, a charged mobile phone, and food and drink. Further informatio­n and registrati­on, which is essential is available through the Valencian federation of mountain sports and climbing federation ( FEMECV) website at www. femecv. com. Each route costs € 15 or € 10 for FEMECV members. Covid19 restrictio­ns only allow a maximum of 25 people per outing. October 18: Walk in the area of Petrer that takes in Catxuli, Calafate, and Foradada October 25: Visit to Banyeres and the source of the River Vinalopó

November 8: Excursion taking walkers to Racó de Sant Bonaventur­a and El Castellar November 15: Walk to the ancient hill fortress at L’Alt de Benimaquia

Cartagena’s Roman forum district – which includes the archaeolog­ical remains of the thermal baths, the banquet hall

and the temple of the goddess Isis – is open again to visits. City hall noted that the site has been chosen as it stands in the open air and twometre social distancing can easily be observed. The Roman forum district will be open from Friday to Sunday.

Tickets cost € 4 – or € 8 including the museum of the Roman theatre.
