Traf­fic of­fence ar­rests

By Shel­ley Lid­dell OF­FI­CERS from the Guardia Civil's re­gional traf­fic department had a busy month in Au­gust, ar­rest­ing a to­tal of 189 driv­ers for var­i­ous of­fences.

Of these, 51 were driv­ing with­out li­cence and 137 were driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol, while one driver was ar­rested for ex­ces­sive speed­ing.

Break­ing the ar­rests down by prov­ince, Va­len­cia had 20 driv­ers with­out a li­cence and 86 drunk driv­ers, Castel­lon had two with­out a li­cence and 17 un­der the in­flu­ence, and Ali­cante had 29 with­out li­cences, 34 drunk driv­ers and one driver who was caught do­ing 179 km per hour in an 80 km per hour limit zone.
