ARQUA museum Paseo del Muelle Alfonso XII, 22. Featuring a permanent exhibition of the treasures recovered from the frigate Nuestra Señora de Mercedes. The frigate was sunk by the British navy off the south coast of Portugal on October 5, 1804 during the Battle of Cape Santa Maria. ARQUA is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00-21.00 and Sundays and bank holidays from 10.00-15.00. It is closed on Mondays. Castillo de la Concepción offers audio guides in English, French and Spanish in order to improve visitor information. For a fee of €2, the guides offer visitors a full history of the city, plus information on the castle itself, which is one of the city's oldest defences.
