Location, Location, Location
By Jo Pugh ENGLISH actor Josh Taylor, who has played roles in films such as Macbeth and Richard III, is currently filming on location at Cala Moraig near Benitachell.
The new screenplay, El Extranjero (The Foreigner), is a Spanish film about a refugee.
It tells the story of a young Englishman who becomes disoriented and loses his boat while out snorkelling.
Currents drag him away from his diving location, and he eventually ends up in a different country.
The film aims to raise a moral debate about immigration.
As well as Taylor's starring role, Manolo Solo, a Spanish Goya winner (Spanish Oscar equivalent) and recipient of two best supporting actor awards, and Sevilla actress Tamara Arias are on the cast list.
The scenic beauty of Cala Moraig met the perfect conditions for the scene required, but due to access difficulties, the film set had to be transported to the beach by boat.
The film will be ready for the big screen next year.
