NA­TIONAL Po­lice have freed six Moroc­can girls who were forced to pros­ti­tute them­selves in seven dis­cos and pubs in Torre Pacheco.

Some of them were aged 16 and 17 and had en­tered the coun­try il­le­gally. They al­legedly worked as wait­ress in bars owned by the pro­cur­ers, but the premises were used to con­tact the cus­tomers. The girls were then taken to a dif­fer­ent sites for the sex­ual ser­vices.

Ac­cord­ing to the Na­tional Po­lice, the own­ers of the premises forced the girls to con­sume drugs and al­co­hol to en­cour­age the cus­tomers to join them. They had to work long hours and were paid just €20 a day. A po­lice spokes­woman said the girls had been given abor­tion pills and at least four il­le­gal abor­tions had taken place. A to­tal of 12 Moroc­cans and one Ro­ma­nian have been ar­rested. They face charges in­clud­ing hu­man traf­fick­ing, il­le­gal abor­tion and drug deal­ing.
