By Jack Troughton Animal charity SCAN has opened the doors to its new charity shop as it marks five years of running its El Vergel sanctuary.
Mayor Basili Salort joined manager Terri Lewis to cut the ribbon at the shop in Carrer Doctor Domenach and welcome guests for a celebratory drink.
The charity moved from its former shop in El Vergel after finding it was “bursting at the seams”.
Terri said there was a 15-strong team running the shop; but new faces would be welcome. “We are always looking for volunteers.”
And she said: “The new shop is very much a different kettle of fish; it’s more of a boutique and a new vibrant place, our volunteers make the shop successful
“I think it’s a very relaxed place to work and we are very much the public face of SCAN. This marks a new chapter for the shop and for the charity.”
Terri said the shop was open Monday to Friday between 10am and 1pm and donations were always gratefully received.
