A GRADUAL drop in the temperature accompanied by rain and snow – this is the forecast from state weather agency AEMET for the weekend in Alicante province.
With the spring arriving on Tuesday (March 20), the winter seems determined to go out with bang.
The agency’s meteorologists are predicting that snow could fall in Alicante’s mountains above 1,300 metres tomorrow (Saturday), with the level falling to 1,000m on Sunday – then 900m on Monday and 600m on Tuesday as the temperature drops.

He said that winds off the sea during this period could bring precipitation to many areas of Alicante province.
Although the forecast was still not clear at the time of going to press, he noted that the weather system could pull in cold air from Eastern Europe.
