Scrap Deceitful Slogans
Of all the rubbish that comes out of many a politician's mouth the meaningless political slogans and empty soundbites that say absolutely nothing are among the most grating. Political discourse hardly gets off the ground when parties start talking inane guff about "going forward not backward" being "strong and stable" and offering "ladders of opportunity". Interviews and speeches are often empty of substance, just collections of sentences dreamt up by focus groups and spin doctors. So the Brit Scene welcomes Sir John Major's recent broadside at today's politicians for their use of "puerile" slogans.
