Christ­mas Car­ols by the Choir

De­cem­ber 12 at La Cala de Mi­jas Ayun­tamiento. T.I.M.S will be per­form­ing their yearly Christ­mas Car­ols con­cert. The Choir has been per­form­ing for Mi­jas Ayun­tamiento for over 15 Years so It is very spe­cial oc­ca­sion for the Choir.

The choir re­cently par­tic­i­pated at the Salina del Sol II on Sun­day Oc­to­ber 8 which saw the fi­nal con­cert of the week-long series of con­certs held at the Avanto Beach­side Restau­rant in La Cala de Mi­jas dur­ing the mu­sic and arts festival "Sal­ida del Sol". This was sup­ported by the Mar­bella Guadalmina Ro­tary Club, Costa Women and the Aso­cia­cion de Arte y Cul­tura Mar­bella.

There was a won­der­ful ar­ray of mu­si­cal tal­ent from artistes repris­ing pieces from their per­for­mances in ear­lier con­certs in the first half in­clud­ing David Lau Mag­nussen on the piano, Marisol Lee on the vi­olin, and Ja­cob Shaw on the cello.

The In­ter­na­tional Mu­sic So­ci­ety (TIMS) sang a rous­ing range of stir­ring songs from the 'last night of the proms', the well-known an­nual series of Prom­e­nade Con­certs held in the Al­bert Hall in Lon­don, where the Vic­to­rian favourites such as Land of Hope and Glor are aired and sung along to by the au­di­ence.

De­spite there be­ing an au­di­ence of many na­tion­al­i­ties ev­ery­body ap­pre­ci­ated the en­thu­si­asm and vir­tu­os­ity of the choir and many joined in the singing, with two en­cores!

A su­perb night and a good cause, Cudeca, helped by a do­na­tion from ev­ery ticket By Mary Page STAFF and Vol­un­teers at the ADANA Dog Res­cue and Re­hom­ing Cen­tre in the Par­que de los Pe­dregales Estepona were de­lighted to re­ceive a visit from a group of se­nior cit­i­zens from the Is­d­abe Res­i­den­cia or­gan­ised by so­cial worker and Estepona coun­cil­lor Manuela Ben­itez.

The vis­i­tors were wel­comed by ADANA Board Mem­bers Mary Page and Reg Winkworth and were served with sand­wiches, cakes and drink pre­pared by Board Mem­ber Susie Brown.

Long time ADANA em­ployee and Deputy Ken­nel Man­ager Fer­nando Amores Gil ex­plained to the vis­i­tors the his­tory of ADANA and the work it does res­cu­ing un­wanted aban­doned dogs and find­ing homes for them. Some of the more mo­bile vis­i­tors ex­plored the shel­ter and its sur­round­ings whilst oth­ers sat and cud­dled pup­pies.

Manuela thanked ADANA and said the vis­i­tors had thor- oughly en­joyed them­selves and were look­ing for­ward to fur­ther op­por­tu­ni­ties to get to know ADANA and its dogs.
