Tourism boom ex­pected in Castel­lón

IN­TER­NA­TIONAL tourists are ex­pected to spend up to €200 mil­lion in the prov­ince dur­ing this year's sum­mer.

The fig­ure, proudly re­leased by re­gional pres­i­dent Ximo Puig on Tuesday, rep­re­sents a 10 per cent in­crease com­pared to 2016, and the fact that an es­ti­mated 500,000 peo­ple will make their way to our shores from abroad is fur­ther ev­i­dence that tourism con­tin­ues on the rise in Castel­lón.

Puig also an­nounced that the sec­tor ac­counts for 13% of em­ploy­ment in the prov­ince and that cam­paigns in sev­eral ar­eas of the prov­ince will aim to fur­ther im­prove these fig­ures.

Fur­ther­more, he ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion about the fact that Castel­lón air­port reached the 200,000-pas­sen­ger land­mark since the first com­mer­cial flights took off back in Septem­ber 2015, meet­ing all ex­pec­ta­tions and help­ing boost tourism

Lastly, the num­ber of na­tional tourist is also ex­pected to in­crease, as well as the amount of days they spend in the prov­ince.
