Tourism boom expected in Castellón
INTERNATIONAL tourists are expected to spend up to €200 million in the province during this year's summer.
The figure, proudly released by regional president Ximo Puig on Tuesday, represents a 10 per cent increase compared to 2016, and the fact that an estimated 500,000 people will make their way to our shores from abroad is further evidence that tourism continues on the rise in Castellón.
Puig also announced that the sector accounts for 13% of employment in the province and that campaigns in several areas of the province will aim to further improve these figures.
Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction about the fact that Castellón airport reached the 200,000-passenger landmark since the first commercial flights took off back in September 2015, meeting all expectations and helping boost tourism
Lastly, the number of national tourist is also expected to increase, as well as the amount of days they spend in the province.
