Bri­tish pub stab­bers sen­tenced

A court in Ali­cante has handed out prison sen­tences to two Bri­tish men for stab­bing two other cus­tomers in an Al­faz del Pi pub.

One of the men, J.A.F., re­ceived a prison sen­tence of two years and seven months, as the judge con­sid­ers him the au­thor of a crime of at­tempted murder.

The other man, M.F. was sen­tenced to one year, three months and 22 days for un­law­ful wound­ing.

Both Brits got in­volved in a pub fight in Al­faz del Pi on the night of Fe­bru­ary 11, 2011, as a re­sult of which M.F. stabbed a cus­tomer, that he did not know prior to the fight, in the hand.

J.A.F tried to kill an­other by stab­bing him in the neck and ab­domen with a 23 cm. knife that he was car­ry­ing.

Af­ter the stab­bing, both men took off, and were later ar­rested by po­lice.

Dur­ing the trial that took place last week in Ali­cante, both men de­clared them­selves guilty,
