Nice job, if you can get it
A CARETAKER is required for a tiny church in Teulada who will get free accommodation in a stunning setting.
Teulada town hall has just signed an agreement with the parish of Santa Catalina.
The agreement means that the town hall will provide visitors to the font and chapel with a recreation area and public toilets, and the parish will find a family which will live in the building next door and take care of maintenance and caretaker duties.
The building belongs to the parish, and it was their wish to have a family live there with the condition of having to carry out certain tasks.
One of the tasks is opening the public toilets daily at 10.00 and closing them at 21.00 between July 1 and September 15.
The rest of the year, the public will have access to the toilets at weekends, and special opening hours might be announced in accordance with public need.
Other tasks include cleaning and maintaining the recreation area, including the toilets and the BBQ area, maintaining the picnic and play area, cleaning the area of the font and chapel as well as the access road, and emptying rubbish bins. The agreement is for one year and can be extended annually. It also allows the town to economise regarding cleaning and caretaker costs.
The job will be advertised by Teulada town hall shortly.
