Mediaeval menus at Borgia Palace
Fifteenth-Century cuisine is on the menu at Gandia's annual festival and fair – a tasty opportunity to find out what the élite yet decadent Borgia dynasty used to dine on back in their heyday.
As part of the Fira i Festesat the end of this month – an event which takes over the whole town for a week – two Mediaeval nights with meals cooked using recipes from the era have been planned.
Head for the Borgia Palace on Saturday, September 30 or Sunday, October 1 for 21.30 for a slap-up repast of four starters, with two choices of main course, dessert, coffee and a drink included, for €30.
A children's menu with smaller portions and more kid-friendly choices is available at €16.
Pre-booking is required, and tickets can be purchased from the Palace reception desk from September 18 to 28, between 10.00 and 13.30 or 16.00 and 19.30, or mornings only on Sundays.
