News staff reporter CASTELLÓN city’s Public Health department has initiated a free course dedicated to help dogs lose their fear of fireworks.

By enlisting the help of dog trainers, councillor Mary Carmen Ribera hopes the pets ‘overcome this involuntary fear and regain their confidence’ in a city where ‘dogs can hear fireworks go off every now and then al- most the entire year round, and constantly during the Magdalena fiestas, which can lead to them developing anxiety, fear and other phobias that in turn compromise their wellbeing’.

The aim of the course is therefore to ‘promote animal wellbeing during the whole year so they can face the fiestas the best way possible’ instead of suffering from the aforementioned issues.
