Albufera road safety improved
Measures have been taken to ensure accidents on the CV-500 are cut, just seven days after the latest crash, which ended with seven people injured.
The road, which suddenly goes from being a highway to a small, onelane route, and runs from a roundabout south of El Saler to El Perellonet, fores drivers to rapidly adjust their driving - and those who are not familiar with the road often do not realise, leading to frequent accidents or the running over of local fauna.
In order to solve the problem, several changes have been added this week.
On one hand, the speed limit has been cut from 80 kilometres per hour to 60, and on the other, the line that separates lanes has been widened, painted red and made continuous, thus banning overtaking, and road studs have been added to further emphasize the prohibition.
