Speedmerchant rolls car down Montgó
A speeding driver went flying off a hairpin bend across the top of the Montgó on Tuesday night and rolled his car down the mountainside – but walked away from the wreckage practically unscathed.
Two young adults who witnessed the dramatic plunge at around 21.30 from the Les Planes road between Dénia and Jávea rushed to the driver's aid, expecting to find a body.
But instead they saw a man on foot with a few cuts and bruises.
He had taken the sharp corner at such high speed that the car had sailed clean off the road.
Firefighters had to cut down several trees to reach the car and scale down a sheer drop.
