Free sports day for local youngsters
Children from Teulada-Moraira will enjoy a day of free sports activities this Sunday (September 17) in the second edition of a mini-games day.
Councillor Mario Font presented the second edition of “Matí Actiu” during a press conference.
Last year’s event was extremely successful, and once again families can enjoy a day involving cross country, sprinting, long jump, shot-put, javelin throwing, and an obstacle course. The initiative is intended to promote both sports activities and healthy living amongst the youngest members of the population.
The children will meet at Plaza Sisé Centenari Sant Vicent Ferrer at 09.30 for a warm-up session and the day will start at 10.00.
Children will be grouped according to their age, and parents are welcome to participate.
Councillor Font thanked the Teulada Athletic Club, Civil Protection, the Red Cross and Local Police for their assistance in organising the day.
Sergio Romaguera, vicepresident of the athletic club Corremundos, said he hopes to motivate everybody, and to promote track and field as well as healthy habits amongst youngsters.
