Coronary care for Benissa
Staff from Benissa council undertook training in how to use a defibrillator this week. The local health department has three of the machines available, one being at the police station, one at the sports centre and one at the municipal pool.
Attendees of the course received instructions on how to use the machine correctly, followed by ongoing resuscitation treatment, including mouth-to-mouth and CPR where necessary.
The aim of the course was to improve reaction times to cardiac emergencies, and to be able to initiate treatment before emergency services arrive on scene.
