Burglar leaves shop front drenched in blood
A jewellers on Dénia's Marqués de Campo street was burgled in the early hours of Wednesday – but the thief escaped with little more than a couple of watches and a cut hand.
The culprits smashed the shop-front window with a manhole cover at around 05.00 and one of them reached through the glass to get to the goods on display, slicing himself in the meantime.
Apart from the window, most of the damage to the shop on the C/ Carlos Sentí corner was the mass of blood everywhere.
Samples of this have been taken to carry out DNA tests in a bid to find the offender.
The intruder alarm went off and the burglars fled, only managing to take two or three watches of limited value in the split seconds they had before the noise attracted residents' attention.
As yet, the thieves have not been caught.
