International Bridge Club of Calpe
We are a friendly club who meet By WBro William Turney Press Officer, Provincial Grand Lodge of Valencia On Friday, November 3, the Worshipful Master, WBro Brian Duncan and his Lady, Beryl, visited Alicante University General Hospital to present a cheque for €4,300 to Aspanion, a charity for children with cancer. The cheque was presented on behalf of the Santa Faz Lodge No 48, and was received by Alejandro Garcia Gea, the Technical Director of Aspanion, who then gave them an insight into their work and a short tour of their facilities.
Aspanion aims to ensure the best quality of life for the children and adolescents with cancer and their families, from diagnosis onwards. They achieve this by working in five key pro- on Sunday evenings at 6pm for 6.15pm start to play duplicate bridge. The Calpe Charity Shop
From Saturday, November 25 to Friday, December 1, the Charity Shop of Calpe is holding a week long Christmas event. Alongside its usual range of clothing and household items, there will be home made cakes for sale daily, a great range of Christmas gifts, a Christmas raffle and special offers throughout the week. In addition, the shop will be open 10am to 5pm on Tuesday, November 28 and Thursday, November 30. Open 10am to 1.30pm on other days. You'´ll find the shop on Avenida Gabriel Miró – half way up on the right hand side – inside Galerías Mar Azul.

The Santa Faz Lodge No 48 raised this money from a variety of fun activities and social events including a quiz, beach walk and BBQ, a Chinese meal, a rastro, a Strawberry Fayre and a Valentine’s Day lunch.
