I HAVE ONLY A FEW DAYS MORE, SAYS MASS MEDIA SECRETARY

Daily Mirror (Sri Lanka) - - NEWS - BY MUDITHA DAYANANDA

The secretary to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Mass Media, Nimal Bopage said yesterday that he felt that he had only a few days more to remain in his post. He said so at a function at which the newly appointed director general of the Rupavahini Corporation assumed duties. Mr. Bopage said further that Ravi Jayawardene, in his address, had said that there were many black-coated gentlemen in this institution. “A solution has now been found in this regard. The black-coated man is ready to leave in a few days,” he said.

He also said that he welcomed the appointment of Thusira Malewwethanthri as the new director general, but felt sad that he would not be there to strengthen his arms, as he felt that his time was up.

“This is a sorrowful moment for me, though I feel happy with this new appointment. In life there is only the coming and going. This is a reality we must face,” he said.
