St. John’s emerge champions

Under 19 Division Two Final

St. John’s Panadura emerged champions of the Singer Under 19 Division Two league cricket tournament with a first innings win over St. Thomas Matara in the final which ended at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona yesterday.

The second day’s play saw St. Thomas in reply to St. John’s score of 207 resuming from their overnight score of 33 for no loss being able to muster a score of only 193 runs which was sufficient for St. John’s to be declared champions.
