Nepal Ambassador to speak at National Chamber event

Nepal Ambassador Vishwambhe­r Pyakuryal will be the special guest speaker at the National Chamber of Commerce-organised ‘Meet the Ambassador’ programme to be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the chamber, No: 450, D.R. Wijewarden­e Mawatha, Colombo 10.

He will be accompanie­d by the embassy Second Secretary Dhana Kumari Joshi.

The purpose of this session is to brief the business community on the business opportunit­ies available in Nepal, joint venture/ investment, export/import items potential items in demand and any other important informatio­n. The participan­ts will get an opportunit­y to interact with the ambassador and officials of the embassy and get to know more informatio­n on trade with Nepal.

Nepal, an ancient country, wedged between India and China, situated in the backdrop of the great Himalayan mountains with the legendary Mt Everest, the highest mountain on earth, has historical places such as Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and ancient cities and monuments.

Sri Lanka establishe­d diplomatic relations with Nepal in 1957. Nepal is a founder member of SAARC, an added advantage to the consolidat­ion of Nepal-sri Lanka relations. Also Nepal being the birth place of Lord Buddha, Sri Lanka shares a special place with Nepal.
