Mr. M.G. Priyantha Kumarasinghe, (49) has been diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis. Dr. Ruwan Dissanayake of the National Hospital Colombo and Dr. Rohana Siriwardena of the Ragama Teaching Hospital have recommended an immediate liver transplant for him in order to save his life. His family intends to take him to a hospital in India. It has been estimated that the cost of the surgery will be around Rs.18 million. He is a father of three young children and does not have sufficient funds for the surgery. His wife is a housewife. He was running a successful garment retail business in Maharagama but it has been badly affected due to the illness.
