Mar­ket up 1.6% dur­ing the week

Dur­ing the week the All Share Price In­dex (ASPI) gained103.25 points to close at 6,632.30 while S&PSL20 gained 117.99 points to close at 3,915.42.

The daily av­er­age turnover was recorded at Rs.1.44bn­com­pared to Rs.1.32bn re­ported dur­ing the pre­vi­ous week. For­eign buy­ing for the week was Rs.3.2bnand for­eign sell­ing was Rs.2.9bn

On Mon­day Sam­path Bank (SAMP) posted the day’s largest turnover of Rs.406mn. To­tal turnover for the day amounted Rs.1bn and the mar­ket closed down on a neg­a­tive note with ASPI and S&PSL20 los­ing 13.21 points and 0.79 points re­spec­tively.

On Tues­day to­tal mar­ket turnover amounted to Rs.2.15bn to which the largest con­tri­bu­tion of Rs.899mn was made by JKH. Rs.338.30 .The mar­ket closed up with ASPI and S&PSL20 gain­ing 7.84 points and 37.32 points re­spec­tively.

Pos­i­tive mo­men­tum con­tin­ued on Wed­nes­day with ASPI and S&PSL20 gain­ing 35.93 points and 36.46 points re­spec­tively. To­tal turnover for the day was Rs.1.9bn to which the largest con­tri­bu­tion of Rs.925mn was made by SAMP.

Mar­ket rally con­tin­ued on Thurs­day gain­ing 61.95 points on ASPI and 47.22 points on S&PSL20. To­tal turnover for the day amounted to Rs.1.4bn to which the largest con­tri­bu­tion of Rs.263mn was made by COMB.

On Fri­day, JKH posted Rs.123mn in turnover which was the day’s sin­gle largest turnover, and the share price closed up 30 cents at Rs.163.30. ASPI gained 10.74 points while S&PSL20 de­clined 2.22 points.
