A Srilankan airline flight from Colombo to Mumbai which developed a technical failure made a safe landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with 138 passengers and seven crew members on board last morning, a Srilankan spokesman said.

Passengers were sent back to Mumbai on another Srilankan flight last morning

The flight UL-141, which had taken off from the BIA at 11.47 p.m. on Monday night had been in the air for two hours and eight minutes and developed a technical failure when the aircraft was nearing Mumbai.

The spokesman said the pilot had informed the BIA control tower about the technical failure and the pilot was instructed to return the flight to the BIA without landing at the Mumbai Airport.

He said the passengers were sent back to Mumbai on another Srilankan flight last morning.
