Sri­lankan flight makes a safe land­ing at BIA

De­spite tech­ni­cal fault

A Sri­lankan air­line flight from Colombo to Mum­bai which de­vel­oped a tech­ni­cal fail­ure made a safe land­ing at the Ban­daranaike In­ter­na­tional Air­port (BIA) with 138 pas­sen­gers and seven crew mem­bers on board last morn­ing, a Sri­lankan spokesman said.

Pas­sen­gers were sent back to Mum­bai on an­other Sri­lankan flight last morn­ing

The flight UL-141, which had taken off from the BIA at 11.47 p.m. on Mon­day night had been in the air for two hours and eight min­utes and de­vel­oped a tech­ni­cal fail­ure when the air­craft was near­ing Mum­bai.

The spokesman said the pi­lot had in­formed the BIA con­trol tower about the tech­ni­cal fail­ure and the pi­lot was in­structed to re­turn the flight to the BIA with­out land­ing at the Mum­bai Air­port.

He said the pas­sen­gers were sent back to Mum­bai on an­other Sri­lankan flight last morn­ing.
