The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) has set October 30 as the deadline for the students of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) to be registered with the university.

The KDU has announced that only the qualified SAITM students would be enrolled to the University and applications for registration submitted after the deadline would be rejected.

It also said that those enrolled to the KDU must abide by the rules of the university and pay the due fees.

It is learnt that only a section of SAITM students have been registered with the KDU while a majority of them are yet to do so.

Parents of the SAITM students say that the scholarship holders of SAITM are facing difficulties as they too have to pay the fee for KDU.
