Take swift action against corrupt politicos

Daily Mirror (Sri Lanka) - - EDITORIAL -

We have witnessed action being taken against politicians of the previous regime on corruption charges which is commendable. Many politicians of the previous government have been remanded and cases filed against them. Some have been released on bail while several others put behind bars. This includes politicians and their close supporters.this is what the people of this country expected.

But the media often highlight the many complaints lodged against corrupt politicians of the present regime.we do not see swift action being taken against them. However, this is not good for those in power.they must prove they are not biased.they attempt to protect their cohorts and strike their opponents with a vengeance. This might not be the actual case. In contemporary politics, mudslinging is very common. Some of these complaints could be false. Perhaps, this might be an attempt to bring disrepute to the government. Nevertheless, such efforts are taken positively by the government and it is now acting to sue corrupt politicians and their supporters.this is precisely what the people of this country need.
