The Boss’s Delight

-

However, much people enjoy their jobs and workplaces, there is always a colleague that they would dislike. The dislike stems mostly from perceived unfairness in the way the person is treated, while the alleged perpetrator is quite unaware of what emotions have been stirred and exist.

In most instances it is the “boss’s delight” that stirs such reaction. There are the colleagues who would flash a leg and the rest of the story is textbook. Many colleagues may not mind that so much if they are concentrating only on their own passion and benefits and do not cause problems for the rest of the staff.

The real menaces are the suckers who pretend that they are completely loyal to the company and are willing to do anything and everything for its betterment. In short, it is the person who asks, “how high?”, when requested to “jump” by the boss. These trouble-shooters are ready to scramble to be the boss’s favourite by finding fault with the others and when a job or any errand has to be done will be the first to volunteer, regardless of whether they know the subject or not. For instance, if someone else on the staff is asked to purchase something, this individual will somehow source a similar item at a lesser price albeit of a lower quality than what was purchased, and point it out to the boss how much could have been saved for the organisation. All what the boss sees and hears is a dedicated staff member making every attempt to save money for the organisation. One can only imagine the annoyance of the rest of the staff watching this colleague sucking up and showing off his purported abilities to the boss. The strange thing is that the learned bosses do not realise that all this sucking up is to gain some power over the others in the establishment. What is also sad is the boss’s inability to discourage such behaviour. You would think they would see through such behaviour. Sadly, most encourage it.
