Oct.20 deadline for Grade 5 Scholarshi­p exam re-scrutiny

Grade 5 Scholarshi­p exam candidates who want a re- scrutiny of their results have been directed to apply before Oct.20.

The Exams Dept said that re-scrutiny applicatio­ns should be submitted through the school principal.

The Grade 5 Scholarshi­p exam 2017 results were out on Thursday (4).

A student from Harischand­ra Vidyalaya Negombo came 1st in the island with 198 marks.

Two students of Welipillaw­e Kanishta Vidyalaya in the Gampaha District were joint 2nd with 197 marks. A student o f Kirillawe l a Primary School came 3rd. Twelve ch i l d ren f rom other Districts were joint 4th with 195 marks. Colombo District did not secure a place within the 1st 16.

The Cutoff marks for Sinhala and Tamil medium from Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara, Kandy and Kegalle Districts is 164 and 156 respective­ly.
