Oost-West­ver­bin­ding de­tour du­ring In­de­pen­den­ce Day ce­le­bra­ti­ons

Dri­vers who wish to dri­ve along the Oost-West­ver­bin­ding (East West Con­nec­ti­on) will co­me across a de­tour be­cau­se of the ce­le­bra­ti­on of the na­ti­on’s 41st an­ni­vers­a­ry of In­de­pen­den­ce Day in the Com­me­wij­ne Dis­trict. Dri­vers will ha­ve to opt for al­ter­na­te rou­tes to reach the main road and their des­ti­na­ti­ons. The Oost-West­ver­bin­ding­will be off-li­mits to trucks from No­vem­ber 23 un­til No­vem­ber 26. On No­vem­ber 24 and No­vem­ber 25, In­de­pen­den­ce Day, the sec­ti­on of the Oos­tWest­ver­bin­ding that is lo­ca­ted bet­ween the Lie­fong­weg and the Ta­mansa­rie­weg will be clo­sed to all traf­fic from mid­night un­til 10 p.m.

The cros­sing of Alk­maar– Ta­man­red­jo will be off-li­mits to traf­fic on In­de­pen­den­ce Day from 3 p.m. un­til 7 p.m. be­cau­se of the mi­li­ta­ry pa­ra­de. Traf­fic signs will be pla­ced along the roads to in­di­ca­te the de­tour. Com­me­wij­ne Dis­trict Com­mis­si­o­ner Re­my Pol­lack poin­ted out that ma­ny guests are ex­pec­ted to at­tend the ce­le­bra­ti­ons in his dis­trict. Pe­o­p­le who want to watch the mi­li­ta­ry pa­ra­de are being ur­ged to head to Ta­man­red­jo ear­ly.
