Neigh­bours ga­ther to save new­born girl

THAI­LAND - Neigh­bours in Thai­land un­wrap­ped a blan­ket and found a new­born ba­by aban­do­ned on their door­step. The litt­le girl, still with her um­bi­li­cal cord at­ta­ched - was left on the porch of a hou­se in Nont­ha­bu­ri, near Bang­kok. Neigh­bours heard the tot crying and found the new­born wrap­ped in­si­de the sheets. The wo­men fran­ti­cally tried to help the tot and ba­thed her in clean wa­ter be­fo­re an am­bu­lan­ce rus­hed her to ne­ar­by Wa­chi­ra­korn hos­pi­tal.

Onuma Moss, who li­ves ne­ar­by, said: ‘It was about 8pm at night and so­me­bo­dy heard crying. ‘They found the litt­le girl on the door­step . She had only just been born. But no­bo­dy could find the mo­ther.’

The ba­by has been ta­ken in­to ca­re but the au­tho­ri­ties are still trying to track down the mo­ther, who ga­ve birth on No­vem­ber 5.
