7 kilos of coke intercepted at JFK Airport
PARAMARIBO/NEW YORK – A Surinamese citizen who tried to smuggle cocaine into the United States of America was caught redhanded upon his arrival in New York. The man who had managed to smuggle 7 kilograms of cocaine from Suriname to the US was arrested at the John F Kennedy International Airport. The confiscated drugs reportedly has a street value of USD 255,000. Reports indicate that Dhroepchand B had departed from the Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport and was flown to the US via Trinidad and Tobago. The cocaine was hidden in his suitcases. The suspect managed to get through customs at JAP and Trinidad. But US customs immediately noticed that there was something wrong with the man’s suitcases. The suitcases reportedly had extra thick walls and were exceptionally heavy. Upon further inspection customs officers found a white substance that later turned out to be cocaine. The cocaine was confiscated and Dhroepchand B was arrested. Robert Perez who works at customs in New York pointed out that drugs busts are made at JFK every day.
