Mohab-Ali and Sardjoe ready to join parliament: Coalition does not cooperate

-

The coalition on Thursday did not cooperate with the admission of Mohammad Barkatoellah Mohab-Ali and Prim Koemar Sardjoe as legislators. August Boldewijn who is a public administration expert pointed out that “it was to be expected that the coalition would not show up”. Boldewijn does not think that Mohab-Ali and Sardjoe will be admitted to parliament before the general elections of May 25. He explained that even if they are not admitted, they are still entitles to their salary for 2 months. “The people have been declared the rightful representatives of parties after Raymond Sapoen and Dieppakkoemar Chitan were recalled by the judge based on the Recall Act. But you deem the recall unlawful so you sabotage these two new men. But that you are opposing the law again because it was not a random person who said it but a judge”, said Boldewijn who added that he would deem it an unjust act and undemocratic if MohabAli and Sardjoe were to be kept from joining parliament. “They call themselves the National Democratic Party but there is no democracy.”

Boldewijn claims that he knew that this would happen. “These are things that we had expected.” Boldewijn explained that the two men who are next in line can’t join parliament as long as the majority of members does not allow their membership. “The current parliament is dissolved when the new one reports for duty.”
