Police arrest burglary suspect

-

18-year-old Mark M was shot in his left leg before being arrested along the Hyacintstraat on Monday night. The burglary suspect was put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital. Reports indicate that the suspect tried to flee the scene when he spotted the police. The police officers fired several warning shots but the teen suspect failed to comply. Mark M was allegedly involved in the burglary of a watch shop located along the Jacques Gompertsstraat. Reports indicate that expensive watches were stolen by the burglars. 8 suspects had already been arrested on burglary charges. Several of these suspects were in possession of stolen watches at the time of their arrest.

The police confiscated the watches that were stolen last week by a gang of burglars. After the burglary the police officers from RBT Paramaribo managed to track down and arrest 8 suspects. The suspects had gained access to the building via the roof. Security footage caught the suspects who were armed and who wore masks. Two black cars that were used by the burglars were also seized by the police.
