Presidential elections to take place on July 13

With only a few days to go it is still unclear who will be the ABOP’s candidate for the vice presidency.Ronnie Brunswijk who was elected chairman of parliament last week has been mentioned as the candidate of ABOP but the party still has not made any official statements. On July 6 parliament decided to hold the presidential elections on July 13. Today is the last day for the parties to present the candidates. The parties have until 3 p.m. today to present the names of the candidates for the presidency and the vice presidency.
