PS in­vites can­di­dates for new board

One month af­ter En­vi­ron­ment Min­is­terChristo­pherGamedze fire the Swazi­land En­vi­ron­ment Au­thor­ity man­age­ment board, Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary Em­manuel Dlamini is call­ing for nom­i­na­tions to the ap­point­ment of a new board. A pub­lic no­tice is­sued by Dlamini states that: “No­tice is hereby pub­lished in terms of Sec­tion 13 (6) of the En­vi­ron­ment Man­age­ment Act No. 5 of 2002 whereby mem­bers of the pub­lic are re­quested to nom­i­nate and sub­mit within 60 days an in­di­vid­ual for se­lec­tion by the min­is­ter to serve as a board mem­ber in the Man­age­ment Board of SEA. “Such nom­i­na­tion should in­clude a de­tailed cur­ricu­lum vi­tae of the nom­i­nee. The nom­i­na­tion should be placed in a sealed en­ve­lope marked “Swazi­landEn­vi­ron­men­tAuthor­ity Man­age­ment Board” and should be de­posited at the Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary’s of­fice on a sealed box on or be­fore 15th Septem­ber, 2017.

The nom­i­nated per­son should have the fol­low­ing spe­cial char­ac­ter­is­tics: be a per­son noted for his/her spe­cial knowl­edge of, and in­ter­est in en­vi­ron­men­tal mat­ters; be a Swazi cit­i­zen; good ed­u­ca­tion back­ground; have knowl­edge and ex­pe­ri­ence in cor­po­rate gov­er­nance is­sues; be an in­di­vid­ual of cal­iber and cred­i­bil­ity in so­ci­ety; be of high in­tegrity and com­mand with a good rep­u­ta­tion in the Swazi com­mu­nity.
