Mpan­gesi blasts Kon­qobe an­tics

The ca­reer of for­mer Ama­jita cap­tain Ayab­ulela Kon­qobe has been called into ques­tion once again, this time by Chippa United boss Chippa Mpen­gesi.

Af­ter star­ring for Thanda Royal Zulu in their pro­mo­tion win­ning Na­tional First Di­vi­sion cam­paign last sea­son, it seemed as if the for­mer Ajax Cape Town trainee had his ca­reer back on track.

How­ever, with TRZ sell­ing their top-flight sta­tus to one of Kon­qobe's for­mer club's Amazulu, the club re­ported that he will re­turn to Usuthu for next sea­son in the Premier­ship.

Nonethe­less, re­cent state­ments in lo­cal me­dia claim the ec­cen­tric de­fender has signed mul­ti­ple con­tracts and one of those deals was

signed with the Chilli Boys - ac­cord­ing to the owner of the club. "We have a three-year con­tract with the player," he told Soc­cer Lad­uma.

Wait­ing

"We are wait­ing for his ar­rival in Port El­iz­a­beth un­less he doesn't want to play foot­ball.

"You can't sign a con­tract with a club and go on to sign an­other one with an­other club. The boy has now signed with AmaZulu.

"We have opened a case at the PSL DRC. He won’t play. He is our player and I'm wait­ing for him," the out­spo­ken Mpan­gesi added.

"I will not al­low the boy to play for an­other club – over my dead body."
