SRIC pledges more sup­port to Darts

DARTS – Swazi­land Royal In­sur­ance Cor­po­ra­tion (SRIC) has pledged to con­tinue sup­port­ing darts in the coun­try for the up­com­ing years.

The com­pany proved its pas­sion of de­vel­op­ing the sport by pledg­ing a sum of E20 000 to­wards the ju­nior na­tional team to com­pete in the up­com­ing Zone VI youth cham­pi­onship slated for next month in Le­sotho.

The good news was re­layed by the Com­pany’ Gen­eral Man­ager Zama Ng­cobo dur­ing the League prize pre­sen­ta­tion.

“We would like to thank the Min­is­ter of Sports, Cul­ture and Youth Af­fairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ng­cam­pha­lala for com­mit­ment to­wards the de­vel­op­ment of sports in the coun­try.

The Min­is­ter has been a leader in the im­prov­ing of var­i­ous sport­ing codes in the coun­try and we are en­cour­aged by his pas­sion for sports, he said.”

“As part of our mis­sion to de­velop the sport, we have de­cided to spon­sor the ju­nior na­tional team that would rep­re­sent the coun­try in Le­sotho with E20 000 in or­der to pro­mote fu­ture play­ers and we are go­ing to sit down with the ex­ec­u­tive to in­crease the prize money,” he said.

Mean­while, Swazi­land Na­tional Sports and Recre­ation Coun­cil (SNSRC) rep­re­sen­ta­tive Zama Ts­abedze thanked SRIC for it’s con­tin­u­ous sup­port for sport in the coun­try.

“We are quite im­pressed by the good work that has been done by SRIC in the coun­try and we com­mend them that. We would like to con­grat­u­late the cham­pi­ons for their achieve­ment and all the teams for dis­play­ing the spirit of fair play through­out the sea­son,” he said.
