VOLLEYBALL - The Swaziland National Volleyball Association (SNVA) will have a tournament for A teams on the first weekend of August.

The following weekend of August will see the B teams have their own tournament.

This will be the first tournament for the association after their dull performance in the CAVB African Nations Regional Championships that were held in Mozambique last month.

The volleyball national team played both Botswana and Mozambique in the tournament and the results were not satisfactory for the locals.

However, the Best Blocker of the tournament was Banele Ndwandwe from Swaziland.

SNVA Secretary Afi Dlamini said they have no international assignments lined-up in their calendar but they have programmes in place for the Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) four-year planning sponsorship for the ladies to keep them active and fit.

“The focus is on the SOCGA sponsorship for the ladies and we would be having as many tournaments as possible to keep them active and fit,” she said.

She said no team has thus far indicated to participate in the Lesotho annual volleyball winter tournament scheduled for 28 July.
