– Lubombo based side Tambuti FC have since enlisted the services of experienced Zimbabwean mentor Texan Phiri as their new coach.

The former Royal Leopard and Malanti Chiefs coach is said to have penned a one year renewable contract with the team replacing Alou Badara, who is now under the books of Mbabane Highlanders.

Phiri was expected to be introduced to the players yesterday and

will work coherently with assistant coach Themba Tsabedze in helping the team compete effectively in the 14 team Premier League. A source close to the matter revealed that Phiri excelled over several coaches that were interested to lead the green and white ensemble.

“The board has chosen Texan to lead the team as the new coach due to his experience in local football. He has been chosen as the right candidate to lead the team from a panel of coaches that had applied for the job,” the source said.

The team’s Public Relations Officer Nathi Dlamini said they were still in the process of searching for their new coach.

“The board of directors are still screening CV’s of several candidates that have shown interest in the position and as a team and we will announce everything to our supporters once the process has been concluded,” he said.
