After killing he was placed in a sitting position as if alive, left naked with used condom on his side Two men arrested, charged for his murder to stand trial

Observer on Saturday - - News - By Sandile Nkambule

The hatred of hearing sounds of stones on the roof top of their family house signalling a call for his girlfriend saw a young man being killed and placed in a sitting position as if alive by his assailants.

The deceased Thabo Dlamini’s only sin was to visit his girlfriend and as per their arrangement, threw stones on the roof top of her family house signalling that she should come out and meet him.

Angered by this, Christopher Dladla and Celumusa Hlophe who have been charged with his murder, are alleged to have tied him to a tree, assaulted him the night over and placed him in a sitting position while naked next to the tree after being murdered. The incident happened at Mndojane area in the Manzini region.

A used condom was also found next to the deceased, which according to the assailants, the deceased might have had sex with their relative hence the assault and subsequent killing.

The two have already been indicted at the High Court and according to the summary of evidence, some women of the area are alleged to have been passing by the tree when they noticed the deceased seated under the tree.

Thinking he was alive, one of them proceeded to him and touched his chin but got the shock of her life when she discovered that he was stone cold and screamed. Transport was immediately arranged and the deceased was taken to the Mankayane Government Hospital but along the way they were intercepted by a road block and told the police that they were ferrying the deceased to hospital. One of the witnesses will also give evidence on how the first accused (Dladla) arranged with the second accused

(Hlophe) that he be made a fall person in the murder charge by owning up to the crime and that he would in turn bail him out upon his arrest.

However, the ploy was crushed when the police rounded them up and arrested them for the murder of the deceased as it transpired that they were both responsible for it during interrogation.
